Robin and Mary go Bowling

Yesterday I had to take our car to the Faro airport and get a new one. As you may know the insurance attached to our credit card is only good for 48 days. If you rent a car for more than 48 days you have no insurance for any of the days. I got a little car for two days and used our MasterCard. For the two days we get the car rental companies insurance. Tomorrow I go back to the airport and pick up a car for the remainder of our stay. Anyone out there how may rent a car for more than 48 days should check the card rules. Some of the cards only allow 30 days.

While I was at the airport Robin and Mary went bowling and I believe had a very good time. Below are some pictures I took upon my return to Cabanas.

Mary and Robin arrive

On Wednesday Robin and Mary arrived. Their room was not ready so we took them to lunch. Well we found the restaurant and they paid. It seemed like a win win. The first two nights they came to our place for dinner. Robin brought desert a bottle of port.

I have to go to Faro today to get out interim car and then on Sunday we get our final car. This is done to keep out credit card insurance in place. The interim car has to be paid without using our TD credit card. Robin and Mary are going to go to the bowling Roll up today. I will get some picture when I return from Faro.

LUDO TRAIL PART II

Tuesday we went to find Flamingos. We were successful and saw two.One appeared to be big, but was a long way away. The other was smaller and quite a bit closer.

We did see some other birds.

We also saw some cactus.

The red fruit we are told is very tasty.

The Ludo Trail

Today we decided to go on a search for a Flamingo. I had just found out that there are Flamingos in Portugal. There is suppose to be some around Tavira, but I could not find out were they were saying they lived. I did find The Ludo Trail which we could walk and search for Flamingos. It is at the west end of the airport runway.

As we walked I saw a photographer and asked how if he had see any Flamingos. He said yes and gave me directions. He said he had seen hundreds here but not today. There were only two a big one and a small one. I will save the birds for tomorrow. Today I will show you some of the foliage.

All along the coast in the eastern Algarve there are salt flats. As we walked along we saw a pile of salt in the distance. As you go along the coast you will see a pile of salt about the same as you see at the RCYC Launch.

Things have gotten Routine

Good evening

Life has gotten somewhat routine in Portugal. We were going to go to Seville today but thought we were not prepared. I went bowling and our team did very well. The temperature was OK but the sun was just out for a few minutes. It is OK we all survived.

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Robin and Mary on Wednesday. Other then that not much to report. I do have prove that Kelly's walking has improved so much that she now will walk in front of me.

Kelly and I did our walk backwards today. As we went down a road just above the boardwalk I noticed we could see the ocean. I took some pictures. It may look ruff because it was very windy.
